Getting help
Unveil is a shared disposable camera for events. A host creates an event, guests join with a code, everyone gets a limited number of shots, and the whole roll develops at the reveal time the host set.
The common questions are below. For anything else, write to haakon.kjelseth@gmail.com and a real person will reply, usually within a couple of days.
Joining an event
Guests join with the host's QR code or invite code. There is no separate account to set up. Open the app, tap Join with a code, and enter the code the host shared.
Every guest gets a set number of shots. Point, shoot, let go. You will not see the photos yet, and the same goes for everyone else.
Why the photos stay hidden
Photos stay sealed until the reveal time the host picked. That includes the person who took them and the host. At the reveal the whole roll develops for everyone at once.
While you wait, the countdown sits on the event screen. Nothing is lost in the meantime.
Photos that seem stuck
Your shots keep uploading in the background, even after you lock the phone or move to another app, and they hold up on the patchy wifi you get at a venue.
If a photo still looks stuck, keep the app installed and open it once on a stronger connection. The upload finishes on its own.
Reporting a photo or a guest
Every event is private and limited to the people the host invited. The host can remove any guest from the event settings, and a removed guest cannot rejoin or add more photos. The host and the person who took a photo can delete it.
To report a photo or a guest to us, email haakon.kjelseth@gmail.com with the event name and what you saw. We review every report and act on anything harmful within 24 hours, which can include removing the content and the account behind it.
Purchases and refunds
Event upgrades are one-time purchases tied to a single event, not a subscription. You can add more guests or unlimited shots while you create an event, or later from the event's upgrade screen. Your phone's app store handles the payment, so we never see your card details.
Refunds run through the same store the purchase came from, using its refund process. If you bought the wrong upgrade, email haakon.kjelseth@gmail.com and we will help sort it out.
Delete your account and data
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time. Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Delete account. This removes your profile, the events you created, the photos you took, and your purchase records. It cannot be undone.
If you cannot open the app, email haakon.kjelseth@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
Photos you added to an event someone else created are removed along with your account. Only aggregated analytics that cannot identify you may remain.
