Pick POV if you have Android guests who deserve a native camera, want to review and delete photos as they arrive, or want the album on a screen during the event. The 10-guest free tier is also the most generous way to try this category.
Pick Unveil if the sealed reveal is the point of the exercise: photos hidden from every person including you, one film look developed into full-resolution files, and a cheaper bill once the guest list passes 100.

Two different ideas about the album
POV's album is a place the party can look at. It can run live while the event happens, feed a slideshow with the business add-on, and the host curates it in real time, reviewing and deleting anything that does not belong. By their own description, hosts can also make people wait until the next day.
Unveil's album does not exist until the reveal. A photo disappears the moment it is taken, the developing roll shows only a heavy blur, and the host waits with everyone else. That trade is deliberate: nobody plays editor during the party, and the reveal is a shared first look rather than a recap.
The moderation difference falls straight out of this. POV gives hosts control as photos arrive. Unveil gives up that control on purpose, and the polite warning is that you find out what your guests shot when everyone else does.
Guests, platforms, and languages
POV covers the most ground here of any app in the category. Android guests get an Instant App rather than a browser tab, hosts can run the event from an Android phone, and the app ships in eleven languages including Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish.
Unveil answers with an App Clip camera on iPhone and a browser camera elsewhere, and the app ships in six languages (English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German, Dutch). Hosting takes an iPhone. If your host phone is Android, POV fits today and Unveil does not.
What you keep afterwards
Unveil develops each photo on the device into a full-resolution finished file, and after the reveal anyone in the event can download them. The look is uniform across the roll, which is what makes the album read as one film.
POV's materials describe the look as a disposable-style filter with stickers, text, and backgrounds, and make no claims about output resolution. They do offer something Unveil does not: designed photobooks of the finished album, printed and delivered.

POV's free tier is twice the size of Unveil's, 10 guests against 5, and the two apps match at 25 and 50 guests ($4.99 and $14.99). From 100 guests the lines diverge: Unveil charges $29.99 where POV charges $34.99, and at the top POV's public pricing ends at 250 guests for $89.99 while Unveil sells unlimited guests at $99.99.
POV also sells a $30 business package with custom branding and the live slideshow, which company events tend to want and private parties tend to skip.
The verdict
POV is the better generalist: more platforms, more languages, more control, and the friendliest free tier for a first try. Unveil does one thing POV structurally does not: it seals the roll from everyone, including you, until a moment you schedule. If you want a curated live album, take POV. If you want the reveal, that is the thing we built.
